Trainings

Trainings are held at least once per week at Temasek Polytechnic. Each session is usually about two hours. In preparation for major competitions, there may be more than one training per week. To sharpen our skills and mettle against other teams, Zenith actively participates in competitions organize by Netball Singapore.

Currently Zenith netball club consists of an approximately 30 active members. Members are of different age groups and walks of life. Of these, some are experienced players who have been with the club since its formation and some are invited to join the club by friends who are already in the club.

Since its formation, the club has seen its members grow. Some who joined the club while they were still in schools or in the polytechnics are now contributing to the society as working adults. Some are married and some have already become parents. Over the years, bonds were forged, friendships were built, and much tears, laughter and joy were shared. Till today, the club still has a good mix of players who are students and working professionals. Though there is a difference in age group, members of the club are like a big family sharing the same passion for netball. There are several members who are now qualified umpires and coaches. We hope to spread the passion to more youths and matured adults.

Members in Zenith, which may be a surprise to some, do not only consist solely of female players. Guys do join the club and found that they are warmly welcomed by the members. Both the guys and gals train together and are subjected to the same training routines and camps. Although netball may be traditionally viewed as a woman's sports, in Zenith, we seek to be different. We are the first club in Singapore to have a full-pledged Men's team and have represented Singapore in the 6th Asian Netball Championship (2005). Invariably, we have become a sparring partner for out national women's netball teams and clubs. In Zenith, our guys enjoy as much as the ladies playing and training for the game.

Besides netball, all our members have other commitments and responsibilities. Nevertheless we committed to the club by training with each other at least once a week and to join in the many varied social events that are specially organized for all members. We are a bunch of passionate individuals who are willing to give time, discipline, and the extra effort to bring ourselves and the team towards excellence and to greater heights.
